Confidentiality policy
How we protect the information you share with us.
Last updated: 2 November 2026
Confidentiality is central to what we do. This policy explains how we protect the information that businesses and investors share with us. It supplements, and does not replace, any non-disclosure agreement (NDA) or exclusivity agreement we sign with you. If they conflict, the signed agreement prevails.
1. What we treat as confidential
All non-public information you give us, including financial statements, contracts, customer and supplier details, ownership and legal information, business plans, and the identity, funds and investment criteria of investors. Our own due diligence findings and assessments about a business are also confidential.
2. How we use it
We use confidential information only to assess, advise on, raise funding for, or invest in a business, and to run our service for you. We do not sell it or use it for unrelated marketing.
3. When we share it
- Businesses. We do not name a business or share its documents with any investor until an NDA is in place and the business has approved the introduction. Early summaries shown to investors are anonymous.
- Investors. We do not share an investor’s identity, funds or criteria with a business without the investor’s consent.
- Advisers and providers. We may share information with professional advisers and service providers, such as lawyers, accountants and secure storage providers, who are bound by confidentiality obligations.
- Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required by law, a court or a regulator. Where lawful, we will tell you first.
4. How we protect it
- Documents are kept in restricted-access cloud storage, organised in a separate folder for each business.
- Access is limited to the people who need it for the engagement.
- We use access controls and take reasonable technical and organisational measures against loss, misuse and unauthorised access.
5. What we expect from you
Businesses and investors who receive confidential information through us must keep it confidential, use it only to evaluate the opportunity, and not pass it on to anyone else without written permission, except to their own advisers who are bound by confidentiality.
6. Exceptions
Confidentiality does not apply to information that is, or becomes, public without a breach of an obligation, that was already lawfully known to the recipient, or that was independently developed or lawfully received from someone entitled to give it.
7. Personal data
When you use our contact form we collect the details you enter, such as your name, email address, company and message. We use them to reply to you and to assess a possible engagement. We do not sell personal data. Please do not send confidential documents through the contact form: we will arrange a secure method for that once we are in contact. You may ask to see, correct or delete your personal data, subject to our legal obligations, by contacting us through the contact page.
8. How long we keep it
We keep confidential information for as long as needed for the engagement and for our legal and record-keeping obligations. On your written request, and subject to those obligations, we will return or delete it.
9. Duration
Our confidentiality obligations continue after an engagement ends, for the period stated in the relevant agreement or, if none is stated, for as long as the information remains confidential.
10. Questions and breaches
If you believe confidential information has been mishandled, tell us right away through the contact page so we can act.
